Mattawan Man Arrested for Child Sexually Abusive Activity
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is announcing the arrest of 35 year old Jeffrey Thomas, 35 of Mattawan, on charges of distributing or promoting child sexually abusive activity and use of a computer to commit a crime.
The investigation was initiated when the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force forwarded a tip to the Fifth District Computer Crimes Unit. Detectives learned child sexually abusive material was being sent via the internet. A search warrant was executed at Thomas’ home and digital evidence was seized.
The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet.
