Police Looking For Portage Armed Robbery Suspects

On January 4th, at approximately 6:20 p.m.., Portage Public Safety Officers responded to an armed robbery/home invasion that had just occurred at an apartment in the Mallard Cove apartment complex located at the corner of Oakland and W. Milham.
The 2 adult male victims and 1 adult female victim reported they were in the apartment when they heard the apartment door buzzer. One of the occupants unlocked the main entry door. Believing it was a friend coming over, the occupant unlocked the apartment door at which time the two suspects rushed him from both sides of the door, pushing him into the apartment. One of the suspects, who was in possession of a silver semi-automatic handgun, pointed it at one of the apartment occupants face and demanded money from him and the other two occupants.
The other suspect was carrying a black backpack that was used to carry property they stole out of the apartment that included a PlayStation 4, video games and a minimal amount of cash. None of the victims were injured during the incident.
Suspect descriptions:
#1) African American male, approximately 30-40 years old, 5’11-6’1 feet tall, 180-200 pounds described as having a “gut,” wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, solid red sweatpants and a dark-colored bandana covering his face. He was carrying a black backpack.
#2) African American male, approximately 18-25 years old, 5’7-5’8 feet tall, “skinny” “basketball” build, wearing blue denim jeans, a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and was wearing medical examination gloves. He was in possession of a silver semi-automatic handgun.
A Portage Police K-9 responded to the scene, tracked the suspects a short distance through the apartment complex where the track was lost.Anyone with information is asked to call the Portage Department of Public Safety at 329-4567 or Silent Observer at 343-2100
