Officers flagged down to help in handgun situation

On Saturday afternoon, Officers from the Three Rivers Police Department were flagged down by a subject near Edgewater Apartments. The complainant reported being threatened by a subject with a handgun. A detailed description was obtained where an area broadcast was dispatched. A TRPD Officer located a vehicle matching the description a few blocks away. A traffic stop was conducted where the vehicle fled the scene. The suspect threw contraband from the vehicle during the pursuit. The suspect crashed into a yard in the 1000 block of Madison St where he was arrested without further incident. TRPD K9 Jake was called to assist where he alerted to the presence of narcotic odor. A vehicle search was conducted where methamphetamine and drug packaging were located. A 41 year old Kalamazoo man is on Federal Probation. He was lodged for felonious assault, flee and elude, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and reckless driving.
